Mescid-i Takva Mosque / Malatya
We encounter mosques in many parts of Anatolia, they are the most important elements of Islam religion and have always been given importance by both Seljuk Empire and Ottoman Empire, in terms of architecture and social concept, until today. Mescid-i Takva mosque was designed regarding Malatya’s history and today’s architectural texture and have been built on 1700 m2 area in total.
Mescid-i Takva was considered as twin minarets and the dome’s diameter is 15,50 metres. The dome height is 25,17 metres. The minaret’s height is 42 metres. It is located in Özalper Quarter in the city centre and is under construction. When the project is completed, it will have the capacity that about one thousand people can pray at the same time.
